Once upon a time I worked as a Physician Assistant in healthcare. Upon having my two daughters I decided to become a stay at home mom. It has truly been the most rewarding decision and I know I am lucky to be able to make it.
However, due to a very rough first post-partum experience I started to stumble. Art and gardening dug me out of my hole and gave me a much needed outlet. I love to bring what I love outside inside so it can be admired always.
With the love and support of my family, this is possible. I would not be able to do this without them. Though my girls sometimes do make it difficult to focus!
Where this began
I have been artistic from a young age and was always in advanced placement art classes through college. I have always loved nature but, after severe post-partum depression, I am now most at peace in my garden and have such an appreciation and gratefulness for it. One day after many years of not painting, I picked up a brush and while staring at a flower in my garden, began to paint. It felt like offloading all of these negative thoughts and letting the wind blow them away.
I specialize in florals and foliage but I also enjoy creating large, abstract pieces with texture and some shine. I love adding a pop of color to a muted room through art, making it the perfect balance of aesthetic and serenity.
